FORM AND PRESENTATION :
White capsule.
Box of 30 capsules in blisters of 10.

COMPOSITION FOR ONE CAPSULE :
Ketotifen (INN) 1mg
(as ketotifen fumarate)
Excipients q.s 1 capsule.

PROPERTIES :
Systemic antihistaminic selective to peripheral H1 receptors.
It has ant allergic properties.

INDICATION :
Preventive treatment of bronchial asthma and reaginic hypersensitivity manifestation.

DOSAGE :
Swallow the capsule with much water during a meal.
Adult and children over 6 years old : 1 capsule morning and evening.
Because of risk of drowsiness, treatment should begin with 1 capsule evening during some days.
Prophylactic effect become steady after 4 weeks, maximum protection after some months.
The treatment with ketotifene should be discontinued gradually , with graduate reduction of dose within 2 to 4 weeks in ordrer to avoid the risk of plasma symptoms recidivating.

CONTRAINDICATIONS :
Hypersensitivity to the product. Oral drugs used for diabetes, also report drugs that may cause drowsiness such as : sleeping pills, anti-anxiety drugs, psychiatric medicines and certain antihistamines (diphenhydramine), myorelaxant, narcotic pain relievers (e.g : codeine). Certain cough and cold preparations
may also make you drowsy.

INTERACTIONS :
Alcohol increase sedative effect of H1 antihistaminic.
Association with atropine and over depressor of the central nervous system is not advisable.

PRECAUTIONS AND WARNINGS :
Drinking alcohol during treatment is strongly not advisable.
Avoid when pregnant (the 24 first weeks) and during breastfeeding.

ADVERSE EFFECTS :
Possibility of drowsiness, gastric troubles, weight gain, dizziness.
