M-Erythromycine - Tablet 500mg

FORM AND PRESENTATION :
Film coated tablet in capsule shape.
Box of 20 tablets in 2 blisters packs of 10.

COMPOSITION FOR ONE TABLET :
Erythromycin  (INN)    500mg
(as ethylsuccinate erythromycine BP)
Excipients q.s                  1 tablet.

PROPERTIES :
Antibactericidal antibiotics of the macrolide family.
Active on Streptococcus, Staphylococcus meti-S , Helicobacter pylori , Campilobacter jejuni, Corynebacterium diphteria, Mycoplasma pneumonia, Chlamydia, Legionella, Treponema, Haemophilus.

INDICATIONS :
Respiratory and ENT (Ear Nose and Throat) infections.
Renal urogenital or gynecologic infections.
Dermatological or stomach infections.
Allergy to betalactamines.
Chimioprohylaxy relapse of AAR (Acute Articular Rheumatism).

DOSAGE :
500mg tablet for adults and children more 8 years old (or weighing more than 25 Kg).
Adult: 2 tablets, 2 to 3 times per day, preferably before meals.
Children more than 8 years  old: 30 to 50mg per kg of weight per day, preferably before meals.

125mg/ bag or 250mg/ bag presentation is recommanded for children less than 8 years old (or weighing less than 25 Kg).

CONTRAINDICATIONS :
Allergy to macrolid and particularly to erythromycin.
Some medicinal associations (see below).

INTERACTIONS :
Associations not indicated : Rye smut  vaso-constrictors (ergotamin, dihydroergotamin).
Non sedative anti-histamin.
Not recommanded associations: Carbamazepin, theophyllin and aminophyllin.

PRECAUTIONS AND WARNINGS :
Liver failure (hepatic), breastfeeding.

ADVERSE EFFECTS :
Frequent digestive distturbances : diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, gastric pains.
Rare allergic disturbances.
