FORM AND PRESENTATION :
Micro-crystalline white powder for IM / IV injectable preparation.
7ml sealed vial.
COMPOSITION FOR ONE VIAL :
Ampicilline (INN) 1g
(as micro-crytalline sodic ampicilline BP)
PROPERTIES :
Bactericidal antibiotics of the Beta-lactamine family (group of amino-penicillin), active per inhibition of protein synthesis of the bacterial cell wall.
Active on Streptococcus, Pneumococcus, Gonococcus, Colibacillus, Shigelle, Salmonelle, Hemophylus.
INDICATIONS :
Respiratory, N.E.T or stomatological infections.
In relay in meningitis.
Renal, genitourinary or gynecological, endocardics, digestive, biliary infections.
DOSAGE :
After addition of water for injectable preparation, the preparation could only be kept in the refrigerator less than 24 hours.
The use of benzylic alcohol for injectable preparation instead of water makes the IM injection less painful.
Deep intramuscular or slow IV injection. Yet, the use of benzylic alcohol in IV is contraindicated.
Usualy IM deep injection:
Adults: 1g the morning, 1g the evening.
Child and infant: 50 to 100 mg/kg each day.
Usualy by IV injection, in perfusion or IV-DL:
Adults: 2 to 12g in 24h.
Child and infant: 100 to 200 mg/kg each 24h.
New born: 100 to 300 mg/kg each day.
CONTRAINDICATIONS :
Allergy to Penicillin and Cephalosporine.
Infectious mononucleosis.
INTERACTIONS :
Do not associate with allopurinol: risks of skin accidents.
PRECAUTIONS AND WARNINGS :
Before any treatment, verify the absence of allergy to Penicillin and Cephalosporine.
ADVERSE EFFECTS :
Allergic accidents.
