FORM AND PRESENTATION :
Light yellow colored powder for syrup.
60ml bottle.
COMPOSITION FOR 5ML OF RECONSTITUED SYRUP :
(ONE TEASPOON).
Amoxicillin (INN) 250mg.
(as tri-hydrate amoxicillin BP).
Excipients q.s 60ml.
EXCIPIENTS WITH KNOWN EFFECT :
Sucrose
PROPERTIES :
Bactericidal antibiotic of bêta-lactamin family.
Activity linked with inhibition of protein synthesis of the bacterial cell walls.
Active on streptococcus, pneumococcus, gonococcus, colibacillus, shigelle, salmonella, hémophylus.
INDICATIONS :
Respiratory, N.E.T or stomatology infections.
Renal, genito-urinary infections.
DOSAGE :
Poor cooled boiled water up to the marked line of the bottle ;add some water after shaking, if needed.
The presentation with 250mg / 5ml is recommended for babies over 30 month age.
Then usual dosage is 25 to 50mg / kg / day, that is 2 to 4 5ml cup each day, according to body weight. Can be taken either before, during or after meals.
CONTRAINDICATIONS :
Allergy to penicillin and cephalosporin.
Infectious mononucleosis.
INTERACTIONS :
In case of association with allopurinol : risks of skin accidents.
PRECAUTIONS AND WARNINGS :
Before any treatment, verify there is no allergy to penicillin and cephalosporin.
ADVERSE EFFECTS :
Allergic accidents.
