FORM AND PRESENTATION :
White, round, flat tablet with a single breakline on one side.
Box of 3 blisters of 10 tablets.
COMPOSITION PER TABLET :
Captopril (INN) 25mg
Hydrochlorothiazide (INN) 12,5mg
Excipients q.s 1 tablet
EXCIPIENTS WITH KNOWN EFFECT :
Saccharose
PROPERTIES :
Fixed dose of Angiotensin Converting Enzyme I and II (ACE) with Thiazidic diuretic.
INDICATIONS :
All stages of essential hypertension.
For stabilisation of blood pressure when single captopril or hydrochlorothiazide is not enough.
DOSAGE :
Swallow the prescribed dose during or after meal.
Treatment generally start with 1/2 of M-Captopril Plus tablet then increased to get the right blood pressure.
The ifficient dosage should be 1 to 2 tablets each day dispensed morning and evening.
This dosage can be increased with a strict blood and kidney monitoring.
The maximum dosage is 3 tablets per day.
CONTRAINDICATIONS :
Pregnancy, breast-feeding.
Hypersensitivity.
INTERACTIONS :
Concomitant use of potassium and/or potassium sparing diurectic or non-steroidic anti-inflammatory with captopril increase the risk of hyperkaliemia.
Intake of lithium with captopril increase the risk of hyperlithiemia.
Calcium associated to hydrochlorothiazide increase the risk of calcemia.
PRECAUTIONS AND WARNINGS :
Anaesthesia : correct sodium depletion if any before initiating captopril.
In case of use of immunosuppressant or leukopenic drug together with captopril : monitoring of blood and kidney should be done before and during the treatment.
ADVERSE EFFECTS :
Dry cough, itch, rashes, alteration of taste sensation, vertigo, headache.
Rarely anaemia, granulocytopenia, proteinuria, hyperkaliemia.
Most of these troubles decreases or disapear with lower dosage.
